I often hear the statement. "School-business partnerships are great until the business or school manager leaves the job." What happens when a new principal or business manager takes over? The answer to this question is: Nothing will threaten a partnership if it is well engineered. The threat of losing a partner is mitigated when the partnership becomes institutionalized and changing personnel make no difference. Institutionalization requires a strong structure. Following the 12 Commandments for forming successful partnerships outlined in the book Facing the Future Together, will help to lead you to institutionalization. Your partnersip will no longer be dependent upon the efforts of just one or two people. Everyone wins!
