American Education - a priority! PDF Print E-mail

Hello Readers.  Welcome to my blog

Education must be among the top priorities of President-elect Barack Obama.  Putting education on the back burner would be a huge mistake.  We can't meaningfully address poverty or grow the economy as long as urban schools are failing.  We will never be able to initiate new high-tech green industries without skilled workers.  Skilled workers aree a product of the school system.

The United States is now the only country in the industrialized world where children are less likely than their parents to graduate from high school.  One recent study found that if American students did as well as those in several Asian countries in math and science, our economy would grow 20 persent faster.

America's distinguishing feature throughout most of our history has been our global lead in education.  That lead is dwindling and it's time to make education a top priority!

It is of extreme importance that teachers be empowered to make policy decisions regarding student learning! This has certainly not been the case during the Bush NCLB years. Yes Obama - it's time for a major change!

Facing the Future Together

If we don't face the future together as partners, what will the world look ike in 10 years?

  • Fewer graduates will be prepared for high-skill demans of the 21st Century workplace
  • The American worker will be displaced by skilled employees from other countries
  • Uneducated, unskilled workers will be condemned to lives of poverty.
  • Finding and retaining good teachers will become increasingly difficult
  • America will lose it's competitive edge in the global marketplace

This prediction is dismal but true.  It's time to intervene as partners.  We're all affected by the preparedness of students who exit our school.

"Facing the Future Together provides an easy-to-follow roadmap to success through partnership.  Every educator, parent, chamber of commerce, business and industry leader should have a copy of this book."

Successful partnershps will make the difference.

Let this book show you how....
